Law Enforcement Counseling
PSPG provides general mental health counseling for public safety personnel and their immediate family members.
The goal is to fully address issues in the present, so they do not become larger in the future. PSPG staff have extensive experience in providing therapy and counseling for both civilians and public safety personnel and their families. Staff are trained in individual, family, couples, and group therapy, and can treat adults, adolescents, and children. Most often, PSPG counselors treat clients with a short-term cognitive-behavioral- based model. If needed, other more specific therapies may be used such as trauma-based approaches like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), or substance abuse interventions like Motivational Interviewing or Relapse Prevention.
